WELCOME TO THE 2024 SEASON OF HURRICANE FOOTBALL

Welcome to the 2024 season of Hurricane Football- the 100th
in the history of the Schuylkill Haven Football program. In the previous 99
seasons, the Hurricanes have an all-time record of 596 wins, 412 losses and 27
ties in 1,023 games- a .589 winning percentage. The all-time record includes 46
wins and 25 loses in 71 playoff games- a .648 winning percentage.
Head Coach Mike Farr – Returning for
his 20th season, the Hurricanes are again led by coach Mike Farr-
the 11th varsity head football coach at Schuylkill Haven High School.
Through 19 seasons, Coach Farr has an overall record of 130 wins and 92 losses
in 222 games- a .586 winning percentage.
2023 Season Recap – The
Hurricanes finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 9 wins and 3 loses.
Their regular season record of 8-2 allowed Haven to qualify for the District XI
Class AA playoffs as the #1 seed. Included in their regular season tally was a
perfect 5-0 record in the Colonial-Schuylkill League White Division which resulted
in the Hurricanes being crowned Division Champions. In the DXI playoffs, Haven
beat Executive Education Academy Charter in the semi-finals before losing to
Williams Valley in the championship game.
2024 Season Preview – The 2024
season will be the fourth for the Schuylkill Haven Football team as part of the
Colonial-Schuylkill League scheduling co-operative. One change for the upcoming
2-year cycle of the scheduling co-op is that all divisions have been realigned.
The Hurricanes are now members of the Blue Division, which is comprised solely
of Schuylkill League teams including Panther Valley, Shenandoah Valley, Mahanoy
Area, Minersville, Williams Valley, Marian, Pine Grove, Nativity and Tri-Valley.
The only non-divisional game on the schedule will be played Week 0 against
rival Blue Mountain.
100 Seasons of Schuylkill
Haven Football – The 2024 season will mark the 100th in
history of football at Schuylkill Haven High School. School-sponsored football
at Haven began in 1925. Plans are in the works to celebrate milestone on
Friday, September 6, when the Hurricanes host Shenandoah Valley. More details
